Introducing Resistenza Tools

Three Ways to Work with Type

At Resistenza Type, we don't just draw typefaces — we build the tools that help you actually use them. Today, we're excited to introduce Resistenza Tools, a new suite of applications designed to make type more explorable, more animated, and more useful in the real world.

Here's what's launching.

Freefall — A Variable Font Explorer

Variable fonts pack an entire family's worth of design possibility into a single file, but exploring that space can feel opaque. Freefall changes that. It's an interactive playground for variable fonts, letting you drag, scrub, and dial through every axis in real time — weight, width, optical size, and any custom axes a typeface defines — and see the results instantly.

Whether you're a designer testing how a headline breathes at different weights, or a developer figuring out which instances to expose in a project, Freefall turns the abstract math of variable font axes into something you can feel with your hands.

Cinema — Bring Type to Life

Type doesn't have to sit still. Cinema (formerly Kinotype) is our type animation tool, built for designers who want to move beyond static specimens and into motion. Set up keyframes, choreograph letterforms, and export animations that show off a typeface's true character — the kind of movement that a still image on a specimen page simply can't capture.

Cinema is especially suited to variable fonts, where animating between axis extremes can reveal a typeface's full range in a way that feels genuinely alive.

Bizstudio — Business Cards, Designed Right

Great typography deserves great application. Bizstudio is a focused business card design app that puts our typefaces to work in one of the most enduring formats in graphic design. Pick a typeface, adjust layout and hierarchy, and produce a print-ready card without wrestling with a general-purpose design tool that wasn't built for the job.

Why We're Building This

Resistenza has always been about the craft of letterforms — handcrafted, calligraphy-rooted type with real character. These tools are an extension of that philosophy: we want the experience of choosing, testing, and applying a typeface to feel as considered as the typefaces themselves.

Freefall, Cinema, and Bizstudio are rolling out over the coming weeks. Follow along on Instagram and keep an eye on the blog for tutorials, behind-the-scenes looks, and updates as each tool goes live. Browse the full catalog anytime at resistenza.es.

Resistenza Tools — because a typeface is only as good as what you can do with it.
